Researchers at the Georgia Institute of Technology have developed an artificial intelligence system that can analyze existing video games and generate new levels that follow the same rules. The AI learns the rules by watching YouTube videos of players in action.

The goal of the research is to create playable levels that closely resemble the original game, without the need for hand coding. The next step is to analyze how players interact with these computer-generated levels compared to the hand-crafted levels of the original game.

Researchers from the Australian National University, the University of Oxford, and the Beijing Academy of Artificial Intelligence have developed an AI system called "3D-GPT" that can generate 3D models from text-based descriptions. The system utilizes multiple AI agents to break down the modeling process and interpret the text prompts, ultimately generating 3D assets that match the user's vision.

While the graphics are not yet photorealistic, this agent-based approach shows promise for simplifying 3D content creation. The researchers believe this system highlights the potential of language models in 3D modeling and offers a framework for future advancements.

Can an AI system that generates 3D models from text-based descriptions simplify and revolutionize the 3D modeling industry?
